Arrive Muscat

Arrive Muscat International Airport and transferred to the hotel. Rest of the evening is at leisure.Overnight Stay in Muscat. (B)

Day 02

Proceed on a half day city tour of Muscat. The visit includes Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, an architectural monument, and Bait Al Zubair museum, which showcases Omani heritage with a vast collection of antiques, traditional Omani weaponry, jewellery, costumes, domestic utensils and recreated urban and rural environments. The drive through old Muscat, surrounded by steep mountains and flanked by the twin 16th century Jalali and Mirani forts, extends to Al Alam Palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. A stop at Muttrah, the main port area, leads to explore an ancient and colorful souk. Lunch in a Local restaurant at client’s cost. Return back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Muscat. (B)

Day 03
Muscat – Jabal Shams via Nizwa

Today we proceed to Jabal Shams via Nizwa. To view a vivid landscape that creates rapturous realm, you will head to Nizwa, firstly to view picturesque palaces of the past, from which sovereign rulers governed the Nizwa Empire. You will then proceed to a have lovely photo-stop at an ancient and deserted village via Fanja. You will then get another quick glance into Oman’s history, while you’re driving another 170kms through the Sumali Gap, to visit the illustrious silver souq and spherical fort of the Yaruba Dynasty at Nizwa, Oman’s old capital city. From here, you will lunch at the Falaj Daris Hotel. This will be followed by the big drive to the Grand Canyon, where you move towards Wadi Ghul to see antique villages and farming fields. This is a gorgeous drive through a rather secluded and distant town found in ruins, testifying their belonging to the era of yesteryear. Next follows your ascent to the Grand Canyon, close to Jebel Shams, which is the uppermost spot in Oman. With a chilly atmosphere engulfing you, you will continue your journey to Al Hamra, a prehistoric town. Here, you will be able to stroll through deep-rooted mud houses, among which one house is as old as 400 years. Overnight Stay in Jabal Shams. (B,D)

Day 04
Jabal Shams – Wahiba Sands

This morning we drive to Wahiba Sands desert. Wahaiba Sands is one of the most fascinating and mysterious deserts in the Arab Gulf region. Depart to Al Wasil, beginning the overnight journey to Wahaiba Sands, which is also home to a few thousand Bedouins, who are known to have inhabited this inhospitable region for at least 7000 years. On arrival at the campsite, guests are welcomed by Bedouins, serving Omani coffee, fresh fruit and mineral water. Skilled drivers will then take you for an exciting dune drive. During night, enjoy moonlit dinner at the camp under millions of twinkling stars. A dune drive or camel ride offer a unique desert experience. Overnight Stay in Wahiba Sands. (B,D)

Day 05
Wahiba Sands – Sur

Early morning, enjoy sunrise in the desert and capture the scenic beauty in camera. After breakfast in the camp, proceed Wadi Bani Khalid. Enjoy a swim. The journey continues to Sur, renowned or shipyards where traditional Omani boats (dhows) are built. The coastal drive continues through Qalhat, one of the oldest towns and seaports in Oman, famous for exporting horses and importing spices from India in the 3th century. The ruins of Bibi Mariam mausoleum is another attraction here. The journey then continues on the graded track to Wadi Shab, one of Oman’s most spectacular wadis, flowing with fresh water most of the year alongside banana plantations and rocky paths. The drive along the coastal road takes you to Sur and Ras Al Hadd where overnight stay is arranged. After dinner, visitors drive to Ras al Jynz, a protected Green turtle nesting reserve. During the nesting season, turtles can be seen laying eggs at night. Overnight Stay in Sur. (B)

Day 06
Depart Sur via Muscat

This morning drive back to Muscat airport for your flight back home. (B)
